This unique boutique style home, located in Anchorage, Alaska, was recently built and designed for optimal guest experience by your hostess and resident artist, Debi Cole. Large windows create a feeling of being outside. And whether it’s frosty and snowing or midnight sunning, you can lavish in perfect temperature on radiant heated floors. Spacious suites feature sultry decor, dazzling view decks, and private baths, all designed to accentuate the vast environmental experience.
Amenities for each bedroom include one king size or two twin beds, mountain views, satellite TV, and clock radios; additionally, all king suite rooms include a refrigerator. Each private bathroom has elegant classic marble surrounds, and thick, luxurious towels, with light kimonos and colorful sarongs added, for lounging comfort.
All suites include a special mood-elevating atmosphere, invigorating mountaintop windswept ionized air, and sparkling well water for drinking, bathing and cooking.
After a long, wonderful day, enjoy late-night snax while settling in for some sky viewing in the Vortex Lounge. Or, stroll about the large home enjoying the original artwork, including our mosaic mural bathrooms, and and abundant beautiful views.
A three-hundred foot soft incline driveway ushers you into our sprawling 13.5 acre property, with a large turnaround area and ample parking. Easy access year round!
Guests may stroll easily along a (somewhat easy and short) nature path to our peaceful Pond Aawesome and Moosetrack Meadow , an expansive, open valley with mountain views all around, natural landscaping and seasonal wildlife.
Our wetlands connect via a natural corridor to the Chugach (“Chew-gatch”) mountain range, which is home to black bear and moose, many of whom daily visit Pond Aawesome and the surrounding Moosetrack Meadow. Other wildlife includes a resident woodpecker, porcupines, the occasional brown bear, the elusive and rarely-sighted lynx, and a variety of wild birds, including the high-soaring eagle.
Winter offers majestic fresh snow, ideal for cross-country skiing, making snow angels, snowshoe hiking and, energy-permitting, hiking up to the hill above the house for a fun run of skiing or snow boarding.
Legendary Bear Valley winds sweep refreshing, ionized gusts through our mountain peaks. They whoosh around our ship-like building, which was designed specifically for these local conditions. No need to be concerned, however harrowing the conditions, with winds occasionally up to 90 mph. These wildest winds seem to occur one to two times every four to six weeks. However, changing weather patterns keep us surprised year round.
Alaska’s stars and planets and mystical Northern Lights dazzle us from August to April, as there re no city lights nearby to interfere with visibility. Our moon is seasonally more amazing from this vantage point, as it appears to rise directly over the mountains above us. To add to your viewing pleasures, due to Alaska’s unique global positioning, the sun and moon rise in a different place every morning.
